37 degrees in santa rosa 36 in napa low fifties already in the oakland and mid-40s in redwood city. mid-60's in oakland expected today and into the north bay and '60s there as well. upper 60s expected in napa and a little bit chillier in san francisco getting up to only 62 degrees. the full forecasters coming up including showers. >> oakland police are searching for suspects this morning following a deadly shooting saturday. the shooting happened just before 5 p-m on 8th street near the west oakland bart station. you're looking at video from our helicopter partnership with abc 7 news. a male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. this was the second homicide in oakland on saturday. a man was fatally stabbed on the 700 block of east 11th street. >> in the north bay. the coast guard is investigating how a ferry collided with a small boat injuring two people. one of them is in morning. the accident happened around four o' clock saturday afternoon. with a goldengate ferry. that ferry was on its way to san francisco from sausalito and had five hundred peopleno one on the ferry was hur

his way to the city where meteor came crashing down. >> reporter: the blast was bone-rattling. the giant meteor exploding in midair, knocking people to ground, sending others fleeing. stunned residents say they still can't believe what happened. "it's something we only saw in the movies," he says. "we never thought we would see it ourselves." today, the cleanup began. over 24,000 troops and emergency responders arriving to help, collecting debris from a collapsed wall, replacing and boarding up blown-out windows. nasa says this was the biggest meteor to hit earth in over a century, weighing more than the eiffel tower, its explosion in the atmosphere, the equivalent of 30 hiroshima bombs. officials say over 1,200 people were injured, over 4,000 buildings damaged and over 1 million square feet of glass shattered, the size of about 20 football fields. there are broken storefronts and windows like this one all throughout the city, you can see them all the way down the street behind me. the city is littered with broken glass that caused most of the injuries. the hunt is on

morning as well, around 41 miles per hour in boston and 36 miles per hour in new york city so that's going to make those temperatures feel even colder than it feels right now. there's the snow coming down east maine and into the boston area and providence. heading to this hour, heavy snow at times. likely will see half a foot in boston accumulating. a lot will be blowing around, and then off the coast of the carolinas you can see the moisture working its way off the coastline itself, but behind that we're dealing with winter weather conditions, winter weather advisory in place here through 10:00. watch for black ice. once again, it's really hard to see as you come over the roadways there, and it makes it very slick and do be expecting to see some of that on bridges and overpasses, specifically. here's the current windchill in florida. can you believe this? this is the sunshine state and we're talking and feeling like 26 degrees in gainesville and 24 in jacksonville is what it feels like right now and even in south florida, we're talking temperatures here in the mid-30s in sarasota and ft.

kaye. i want to start with you in vatican city for a beginning and end of sorts here. pope benedict xvi is residing from st. peter's square right now. this is one of the last appearances he will make as pope. on the other end of the spectrum it is audition day for some of his successors. joining me now from rome cnn international correspondent ben wedemen. ben, i want to start with pope benedict. how will he spend his last 11 days now as pope? >> well, right now what we see is a much larger crowd that he's addressing in st. peter's square. numbers as high as 150,000 people on a normal sunday it wouldn't be even half that number. now, he's going to give this angelus prayers and address the faithful in a number of languages. right now in italian but also be speaking with them in english, polish, german. also today, however, he's going to go into a week of retreat for the period of lent and during that time he will be meeting in prayer and contemplation with many senior bishops and cardinals and, obviously, when that week comes to an end he will resume his normal activities, which include

. what more can you tell us? >> the floridaen golf and react club in palm city, florida is where they played their round of golf. the president is visiting here through some friends of his in houston. he was introduced to the golf course and as a result of that has decided to take a golf buddies trip more than anything else. he took lessons from butch harmon and his son, claude. they have been talking about playing their first round of golf. it was supposed to happen at the medalist about 30 minutes away. because of the weather and the security and everything they decided to do it here. and so at about 11:00 today they went off the first tee for their first round of golf. this is not the first time they have been together. they met in 2009 in i believe the oval office when tiger was in washington to promote his golf tournament. obviously a historic day in golf to see two figures like the president and tiger woods together for the first time on the golf course. >> is it just the two of them? >> there is a foursome. jim crane who is the owner of this golf course and also owns the h
